This article briefly describes the erosion and bank collapse of the mainstream of the Yangtze River in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River since the storage of the Three Gorges Project.Bank collapse prevention in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River is a long-term and arduous task.In terms of advancing bank collapse management,establishing a bank collapse monitoring and early warning mechanism,and emergency rescue mechanisms,suggestions are made for river bank collapse prevention.
