Cultural Showcase:Research on Front Illustration of Daily Books in the Late Ming Dynasty

卷前附带插图是晚明日用类书中较为普遍的文化现象,此类插图中含有丰富的生活、交际图景,成为直观展示晚明民间社会的历史画卷。依据画面内容,晚明日用类书卷前插图可分为历史掌故、纪史记实、情景演绎三种类型。作为卷前"明信片",卷前插图与文本内容关系密切,虽然插图整体质量偏低,仿制重景问题严重,却能折射出晚明社会风潮与民间日用类书出版的理念。

It was a common cultural phenomenon in daily books of the late Ming Dynasty to include illustrations in the front cover of the volumes.Such illustrations contained rich pictures of people's daily lives and communication,which became a historical picture scroll intuitively displaying the civil society of the late Ming Dynasty.According to the content of the pictures,the front illustrations of daily books in the late Ming Dynasty could be divided into three types:historical stories,historical records and scenes.As the"postcard"in front cover of the volumes,the front illustrations of daily books in the late Ming Dynasty were closely related to the content of the text.Although the overall quality of the illustrations was low and the imitation of re-scene was serious,they reflected the social trend of the late Ming Dynasty and the publishing concept of daily folk books.
