Objective:To explore application effects of integrated health education with graphics and text in nursing of orthodontic adolescents.Methods:80 adolescent patients undergoing orthodontic treatment were selected as the research objects, and were divided into observation group and control group according to different health education methods,40 cases in each group. The observation group was given the integrated health education with graphics and text, while the control group was given a text-based health education. The plaque index, gum index, bracket expulsion rate, mucosal damage rate, and on-time follow-up rate were compared between the two groups.Results:4 and 8 months after the correction, the plaque index and gum index in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Within 8 months of the correction, the bracket expulsion rate, mucosal damage rate in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, the on-time follow-up rate was higher than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions:The integrated health education with graphics and text can improve the oral hygiene of the adolescent orthodontic patients, help to reduce the incidence of gingivitis and periodontal disease, and reduce the occurrence of bracket expulsion and mucosal damage.
