Cultural Continuity and Cross-regional Cultural Integration in Developing City Clusters in China

改革开放以来,我国在经历了十分迅猛的城镇化进程之后,到今天已经进入了一个新的历史时期,即在全国范围内全面推进城市群规划与建设。城市群建设所带来的区域资源整合,无论在规模、力度和影响上都会是前所未有的,这也意味着,城市群之间以及城市群内部会出现大量的地方文化碰撞或消逝的情况。因此,确保城市文脉的延续,促进地方传统文化的创造性保护和创新性发展,需顺应城市发展规律,坚持以人民为中心的发展思想,划定历史文化保护线,加快推动城乡文化融合发展。

China has entered a new historical period after the rapid urbanization process initiated since the reform and opening up,that is,to comprehensively promote the planning and construction of city clusters nationwide.The ensuing integration of regional resources will be unprecedented in terms of scale,depth and impact,which also means that there will be a large number of local cultural collisions and disappearances between or within city clusters.Therefore,to ensure the cultural continuity of cities and creatively protect and develop the local traditional culture,it is necessary to conform to the law governing urban development,adhere to the people-centered development idea,define the historical and cultural protection zones,and accelerate the integration of urban and rural culture.
