The Significance of Taking International Relations as a Compulsory Course for College Students in the New Era

掌握国际关系知识、树立全球意识和了解国际关系的发展趋势已经成为当代公民的必备素质。党的十八大以来,具有大国特色、大国风格和大国气度的中国外交正阔步向前、激荡世界,中国与世界深度融合、相互促进、相互激荡的时代背景,要求公民懂得国际规则,具备国际化思维,具有一定的全球视野和战略眼光。将国际关系列为高等学校学生必修课,普及国际关系知识,加强世情国情教育已势在必行。对于高等学校学生而言,学习国际关系知识,有助于培养宏观分析与理性分析能力,了解世界发展的趋势、多样性和中国的特殊性,为理解国际现象、研究国际问题打下基础。关于课程名称,笔者建议统一为"国际关系分析",国际关系的历史、现实与理论构成了这门课程教学内容的基本体系。

Mastering knowledge of international relations,building global awareness and understanding the development trend of international relations have become the essential qualities of contemporary citizens.Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China,China's diplomacy,which has the characteristics,style and magnanimity of a great power,is striding forward and stirring up the world.Under the background of deep integration,mutual promotion and mutual reaction between China and the world,citizens are required to understand international rules,qualify themselves with international mindedness,and have a certain global view and strategic vision.It is imperative to make international relations to be a compulsory course for higher school,popularize the international relations knowledge and strengthen the national and world situation education.For college students,learning international relations knowledge is helpful to cultivate the ability of macro-analysis and rational analysis,understand world development trends,its diversity and China's particularity,and lay a foundation for understanding international phenomena and studying international issues.Regarding the name of the course,the author suggests that it should be unified as International Relations Analysis.The history,current situation and theory of international relations constitute the basic system of the course's teaching content.
