New Historical Materials About Chen Jitang of the Provincial Adminstrative Commissioner in Xinjiang in the Late Qing Dynasty--A Probe on the Content and Value of Chen Jitang’s Narrative Collected in Tianjin Library

庋藏于天津图书馆的《诰授光禄大夫正一品封典新疆布政使先考尧斋府君行述》,系晚清新疆布政使陈际唐长子陈超衡为父撰写的行状,大抵提到陈际唐世系、仕宦经历、治理地方措施与功绩、慈善行为、人物评价以及书写缘由等,具有特殊史学价值,为新发现探研陈际唐事迹的资料。与考述陈际唐生平常用材料《诰授光禄大夫前新疆布政使陈公墓志铭》相较,《行述》记载周密详备,为其史料的重要来源。

The description of Chen Jitang of the provincial adminstrative commissioner in Xinjiang in the late Qing Dynasty written by Chen Chaoheng is in Tianjin Library,which involves Chen Jitang's family history,official experiences,governance of local measures and achievements,charitable acts,character evaluation and reasons for writing,etc.It has special historical value,and is the new material to explore Chen Jitang's deeds.Compared with the commonly used materials of Chen Jitang's Epitaph,It is well-documented and an important source of historical materials.
