英式冷幽默善于运用温和、间接的方式,引起语言情境中的不和谐与不协调,从而产生幽默效果,这符合乖讹论的原理。以《唐顿庄园》为例,该剧展现了乖讹论视角下冷幽默的特点:大量运用双关、无厘头语言、讽刺、比喻与自嘲等,体现说话者的善意与尊严,挽留他人的脸面,或者体现自己的坚强与幽默。

The British cold humor causes disharmony and disorder in the context of language environment by making use of moderate and indirect methods,thus leads to humor effect.And it is also an expression of incongruity theory.This paper takes Downton Abbey as an example,and tries to analyze the characteristics of British cold humor:by using pun,nonsense words,sarcasm,simile and self-mockery,the speaker s dignity and resection are protected,the listener s face is saved and the speaker s humor as well as the strength is expressed.
