TREK-1,a member of two-pore domain K^+channel(K2P)family,has various functions and participates in the regu-lation of resting membrane potentials.Recent studies indicate that TREK-1 is essential in anesthesia, pain, neuroprotection and depres-sion.Based on domestic and foreign literature related to TREK-1,this review concisely outlines the structure, function, distribution and modulation of TREK-1,and thoroughly presents the advances in those fields above.Furthermore, the role of TREK-1 in general anes-thesia,pain,neuroprotection and depression has been elaborated,so as to provide better understanding of the pathological implication of TREK-1 in these fields and facilitate the development of new drugs.
