象似性视角下的儿童文学翻译——基于曹文轩中英双语作品集的研究

Syntactic Iconicity in Translation of Children’s Literature--Based on Cao Wenxuan’s Bilingual Works

文章以象似性为视角,分析句法象似性原则在原文及译本中的体现与运用及其对于再现原文本文体价值的指导作用,以期在儿童文学翻译中通过译本的"风格标记性"和"文学表达力"的对等来再现前景化语篇的文体特征。通过对《曹文轩中英双语作品集》中《火桂花》和《凤鸽儿》两部童话的定性定量分析,发现英译本较多采用对称象似性原则,译者使用排比和对偶等符合对称象似性原则的句式,使译文更好再现原文的文体特征。

Based on the Iconicity Theory,the study displayed the application of syntactic iconicity in the Cao Wenxuan’s bilingual works,and analyzed the guiding role to represent the stylistic value of the original texts,aiming to represent the stylistic features of foregrounding text through the equivalence of"stylistic markedness"and"literary expressiveness"in the translation version of children’s literature.The study employed both quantitative and qualitative analysis methods,with the Chinese version of Cao Wenxuan’s works and Helen Wang’s English versions as the subject,and the results were as followed:the English version applied more symmetrical principle of iconicity;translators used rhetoric skills like parallelism and antithesis which conforms to iconicity principles to better display the stylistic features of the original text.
