From a commoner to a painter whose work was regarded as "the best painting all over the land" by Shenzong, the reason behind is that he is a painter who believes the natural order of things, and the style of his paintings overlaps the political connotations, thus, they were regarded as the "Official Paintings of Guo Xi" by the people in that period. Most probably, his paintings served as the screen in the hall of the government affairs. From some kind of equivalence between the paintings and the political environment, the understanding of the value of Early Spring in the history of image can help fill the gap between image art and history.
