校园的城市化及其应对策略--以加拿大怀雅逊大学城市公共场所设计为例

Campus Urbanism and Its Countermeasures:A Case of Ryerson University Campus Public Realm,Canada

随着城市建设,社会需求的变化,如今高校不仅面临学术上的挑战,而且肩负技术、经济和城市振兴的使命。如何解决大学自身发展和大规模城市建设之间的矛盾,营造良好的发展环境和城市、校园形象,值得深思。该文通过论述西方大学校园与城市关系的演进,分析当前校园的需求和挑战,提出建设良好的校园城市公共领域的四个策略:校园建筑衔接周边社区;活跃校园和城市的边界;传承校园文化,塑造城市形象;丰富校园景观,补充城市景观。最后以加拿大怀雅逊大学城市公共场所设计实践为例,探讨具体的设计方法和建设措施,为我国应对城市内校园的建设和发展,城市空间和格局的调整提供借鉴。

With continuous changes in urban construction and social needs,universities now not only have to face academic challenges but also shoulder the mission of technology,economy,and urban revitalization.It is time to think about how to solve the contradiction between the development of universities themselves and the city construction,and how to create a balanced environment and improve images for them.In this paper we firstly examine the evolution of the relationship between campuses and cities,we also analyze their current needs and challenges.Then we put forward four main strategies for building a good campus public realm:architecture bridging with the community,active the edge,inheriting university culture and creating city identity,enriching campus landscape and supplementing urban landscape.Finally,taking the project of Ryerson University Campus Public Realm as an example,we specifically explore the concrete methods for integrating into the city grid appropriately and give a reference for universities and colleges in China.
