The classic of Hamlet is not only its profound theme,wonderful plot,but also the unique defamiliarized language in the works.The article selects Shakespeare's Hamlet as the research text,analyzing the utterances of two dramatic characters—Hamlet and Polonius,focusing on the study of the language defamiliarization techniques.In Hamlet,Shakespeare creatively used a variety of language defamiliarization,the two characters'utterances are full of ingenious defamiliarization techniques,especially at both lexical and syntactic levels.These well-designed defamiliarized languages make Polonius shrewd calculation and ostentation as well as Hamlet eloquence and sagacity,reflecting Shakespeare's superb language art and giving readers a novel aesthetic experience.
