空间批评视域下《城南旧事》的思想意蕴解析

On Ideological Implications of South Side Stories from the perspective of Space Criticism

《城南旧事》是台湾作家林海音的代表作品,享誉大陆和台湾。《城南旧事》以作者七岁到十三岁的北平生活为背景,是一部追述北平童年往事的自叙传小说集。文章运用空间批评理论,主要从物理空间、社会空间、心灵空间三个层面来阐述《城南旧事》的思想意蕴:介绍物理空间展示的北平图景,即从自然景观和人文景观展示老北京的地理风貌,民风民俗;从社会背景出发研究新式女性和旧式女性的生存境遇,从社会空间角度分析作者的女性意识;介绍心灵空间展示的文化乡愁,包括回忆童年往事,探寻家国观念,描写京味文化,从故事层、文化层等更深的层面分析作者的乡愁。

South Side Stories enjoying great popularity both in China's Mainland and in Taiwan is the masterpiece of Taiwan Residents writer Lin Haiyin.Based on the author’s childhood life from 7 to 13 years old in Peking,South Side Stories is an autobiographical novel collection which recalls childhood stories in Peking.This paper employs space critical theory to illustrate the ideological implications in South Side Stories from the levels of physical space,society space and spiritual space:To introduce the view of Peking from the perspective of physical space,namely,an exhibition of the geographical features and folkways in terms of natural landscape and humanity landscape;to study the living conditions of new women and women of old days from the perspective of social background,analyze the author’s woman consciousness from the perspective of society space;to introduce cultural nostalgia exhibited by spiritual space,including recollecting childhood experiences,exploring the concept of country and nation,describing Peking culture,analyzing the author’s nostalgia from the deeper levels of culture and story.
