Unearthed from the tomb of Li Jingxun, the necklace has drew worldwide attention with its "foreign face", now at the National Museum of China, as it seems against the grain of Chinese culture at first glance. This article examines the cultural genes of the Sui dynasty and the Byzantine Empire at the intersection of history from the perspective of exchange of jewelry culture in Eurasia. The small piece of jewelry reveals how the Western jewelry culture traveled eastwards in terms of craftsmanship and form, and how the Sui Dynasty, which featured a foreign ancestry, embraced it with openness and tolerance. It can be noted that even at a time of great inaccessibility that hindered the exchange between Chinese and Western cultures, there was a mysterious drive behind the strong urge for communication of the two cultures which are with extremely high culture-polar, as evidenced by jewelry.
