Thoughts on the New Setup of Open Economy in the Western China

党的十九大对推动形成全面开放新格局进行了部署。改革开放以来,西部地区开放型经济发展相对滞后,构建开放型经济新格局具有后发优势及广阔空间,特别是在中美经贸摩擦屡次发生的情况下,必须充分认识西部地区开放型经济发展面临的基本要求、重要意义以及主要制约因素,并采取有力措施加速构建西部地区开放型经济新格局。这对于认真贯彻新发展理念,促进区域协调发展,助力“一带一路”倡议实施必将发挥重要作用。

The 19th CPC National Congress laid down the plan to press ahead the all-round opening up.Since the reform and opening up,the development of open economy in western China has been lagging behind.However,western China may have the latecomer advantages and extensive potentiality in constructing an open economy.Especially against the backdrop of frequent trade frictions between China and the US,it is imperative to recognize the basic demand,significance and the primary constraints in the development of open economy in western China.Strong measures should be adopted to promote the setup.It will definitely play a critical role in putting in place the new development philosophy,promoting coordinated and balanced development of regions and pressing ahead the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative.
