摘要
19世纪英国画家乔治·钱纳利(George Chinnery)在中国澳门生活了27年,在此期间他将英国传统艺术与澳门地域文化相融合,绘制了大量具有澳门地域特色的水彩画,对澳门及珠江三角洲地区的画家产生了重要影响。本文以钱纳利"澳门时期"的水彩画为研究对象,梳理澳门在西画东渐史和水彩画史的地理文化坐标,分析钱纳利的艺术源流和水彩画样式特征及其艺术活动所产生的文化效应,以此论证澳门在中国早期水彩画史中的地理坐标及钱纳利为中国早期水彩画的传播发展所作出的重要贡献。
George Chinnery,a 19th-century English painter,had lived in Macao,China,for 27 years,during which he integrated the traditional British art with the regional culture of Macao and painted a large number of watercolor paintings with the regional characteristics of Macao.His efforts had an important impact on the painters in Macao and the Pearl River Delta region.Taking the watercolor paintings of Chinnery completed in Macao as the research object,this paper explores the geographical and cultural coordinates of Macao in the history of the eastward transmission of western paintings and watercolor painting and analyses the painter Chinnery in terms of his artistic origin,features of his watercolor style and the cultural effects of his artistic activities,in order to demonstrate the important contribution of Macao in the history of early Chinese watercolor paintings with its geographical coordinate and that of Chinnery to the spread and development of early Chinese watercolor paintings.
