“博弈论”视阈下译者主体性在术语翻译中的演绎——以《三国演义》罗慕士译本为例

The Deduction of Translator’s Subjectivity in Terms’Translation from the Perspective of“Gaming Theory”:Taking Moss Roberts’Translation of The Three Kingdoms as an Example

术语的翻译应该遵循专门性、理据性、形象性和灵活性的特点。译者在翻译中会对译本施加自身的主体性作用。术语的翻译是译者发挥译者主体性,与术语客观理据性间的“博弈”过程。典籍英译是翻译发展进程中不可或缺的组成部分,承载了对外传播和传承传统文化的使命。本文以《三国演义》罗慕士译本中的术语翻译为例,指出术语翻译客观理据性与译者主体性“博弈”的原因,提出这种博弈既是一种文学作品中术语制定规则下衍生发展的活力再现,又是一种译者发挥话语分析、重构意义、实现受益最大化的选择。

During the process of terms’translation,it should conform to the characteristics of technicality,rationality,vitality and flexibility.The translator will exert a subjective in fluence on translated version in the translation.The translation of terms is the“game”process between the translator’s subjectivity and the objective rationality of the term.English translations of Chinese classics have played an indispensable part in the development of translation and taken on a mission to strengthen communication among countries and promote traditional culture.Taking The Three Kingdoms’terms translated by Moss Roberts,this article reveals the reason behind the game between terms’objective rationality and translator’s subjectivity,and points out that this game is not only useful to terms’renewal in literature,but also bene ficial to the discourse analysis,meaning reconstruction and realization of maximized benefit of translators.
