Discussion on the Literature Becoming a Classic Thesis:on the Basic Meaning of Literary Classics and Generating Conditions

“文学名著”包含三方面的关键要素一是对时代、历史、社会、人生有深刻而独特的认识,对后世有重要的启示和教育作用;二是有高度的艺术价值;三是经过时间的考验,受到社会的广泛认同并长久流传。认识文学名著,同时还要弄清它与受众、与获奖的关系,还要认识到不同时代以及中、西方对于文学名著有不同的认知。文学名著的生成条件包括外部条件和内部条件,外部条件指作家创作的宽松社会氛围和作家生活所在的时代;内部条件指作家写“史”的创作理念、作家强烈的创新意识、作家符合时代发展的思想情怀和作家创作文学名著(优秀作品)的意图。

The key elements of"literary classics"consist of three aspects:firstly,it has a profound and unique understanding of the age,history,society and life,or important enlightenment and education effect to future generations.Secondly,it has a high degree of artistic value.Thirdly,it has been tested in the long run,widely recognized by society and circulated for a long time.To understand literary classics,it is necessary to clarify its relation to the audience and its award-winning.It is also helpful to realize that,in different times and in the different culture of the east and the west,people understand literary classics with different interpretations.The formation of literary classics includes external and internal conditions.External condition refers to the easing social atmosphere around the writer,and the special age where the writer lives;Internal condition refers to the writer's creation principle in writing"history",the writer's strong innovation consciousness,the writer's thinking and attitude in accordance with the development of the age,and the writer's intention in composing the literary classics(good work).
