麦家蛰伏多年推出的新作《人生海海》,并没有延续他以往的谍战小说书写,而是一部充溢着浓厚乡土色彩的民间传奇。作品中的民间叙事首先体现在底层民众对性、道义以及声名的狂热与偏执;其次是有善恶忠奸和丰满血肉的民间人物谱系;再者就是作家对“讲故事”和“听故事”这种典型民间言说方式的运用。可以说,《人生海海》的民间叙事转型不仅是一次充满野心的尝试,也体现了作家在叙事上的强劲力道和精密营构。
