媒体压力对女大学生整容手术态度的影响:上行外貌比较和相貌不满意的链式中介作用

Impact of Media Pressure on Attitude of Cosmetic Surgery in Female College Students:the Serial Mediation of Upward Physical Appearance Comparison and Face Dissatisfaction

目的:探讨媒体压力对女大学生整容手术态度的影响,以及上行外貌比较、相貌不满意在两者关系中的中介作用。方法:采用中文版社会文化态度问卷、上行外貌比较量表、相貌不满意量表以及整容手术态度量表对557名女大学生进行调查。结果:①相关分析显示,媒体压力、上行外貌比较、相貌不满意、整容手术态度得分两两之间均呈正相关;②链式中介效应分析表明,媒体压力能通过上行外貌比较和相貌不满意的中介作用对整容手术态度产生影响,且该中介作用包含了三条路径--上行外貌比较、相貌不满意的单独中介作用以及上行外貌比较-相貌不满意的链式中介作用。结论:媒体压力可以直接影响女大学生的整容手术态度,也可以通过提高个体的上行外貌比较和相貌不满意间接影响。

Objective: In order to explore the influence of media pressure on attitude towards cosmetic surgery and the mediating role of upward appearance comparison and face dissatisfaction in female college student. Methods: Totally 557 female college students were investigated with the Chinese version of the Sociocultural Attitude Questionnaire, Upward Physical Appearance Comparison Scale, Negative Physical Self Scale and the Acceptance of Cosmetic Surgery Scale. Results: ①Correlation analysis showed that media pressure, upward physical appearance comparison, face dissatisfaction,and the attitude of cosmetic surgery were positively correlated with each other. Mediation modeling analysis showed that self-disclosure had a direct effect on benefit finding. ②Mediation analysis revealed that media pressure affected the attitude of cosmetic surgery through the mediation of upward physical appearance comparison and face dissatisfaction. The mediation effects contained three paths, the separate mediation effect of upward physical appearance comparison and face dissatisfaction and the serial mediation effect of upward physical appearance comparison and face dissatisfaction. Conclusion: This study uncovers the mechanism underlying the relationship between media pressure and the attitude of cosmetic surgery. Media pressure indirectly predicts attitude of cosmetic surgery through the chain mediating effect of upward physical appearance comparison and face dissatisfaction in female college student.
