A Better Life From the Perspective of Philosophy

“中国特色社会主义进入新时代,我国社会主要矛盾已经转化为人民日益增长的美好生活需要和不平衡不充分的发展之间的矛盾。”[1]透彻理解并着力解决党的十九大提出的新时代我国社会主要矛盾,必须要对蕴含其中的“美好生活”进行全面而深刻的解读。文章梳理了作为新时代我国社会主要矛盾重要内容的“美好生活”这一科学概念的形成过程,揭示了“美好生活”的哲学意蕴和深刻内涵,认为从哲学的层面说,美好生活是指人们在满足基本的物质生活需要的基础上所追求的体现自由意志和价值实现的精神充实、幸福美满的实践生活,美好生活具有以人为本与人民当家作主的辩证统一、客观性与主观性的辩证统一、一致性与多样性的辩证统一等特征。

"As socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era,the principal contradiction facing Chinese soci?ety has evolved.What we now face is the contradiction between unbalanced and inadequate development and the people’s ever-growing needs for a better life."To fully understand and solve the principal contradiction facing Chinese society in the new era proposed by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,it is necessary to understand the meaning of"a better life"comprehensively and profoundly.This paper combs the formation process of the scientific concept of"a bet?ter life",which is an important content of the principal contradiction facing Chinese society in the new era,and reveals the philosophical meaning and profound connotation of"a better life".From the perspective of philosophy,a better life refers to the practical life that people pursue on the basis of meeting the basic material life needs.This kind of practical life is the embodiment of spiritual enrichment and happiness of free will and value realization.A better life is characterized by the dia?lectical unity of people-oriented and the position of the people as masters of the country,objectivity and subjectivity,consis?tency and diversity.
