乐署与北宋礼乐思想的形成

Imperial Music Office and the Formation of Thoughts of Li and Music in the Northern Song Dynasty

乐署与中国传统礼乐思想关系密切而独特,乐署为建设、推行特定礼乐思想而设,礼乐思想一旦建成、壮大、圆满并深入人心,进而体现为民众自觉的行为,则乐署目标实现,礼乐思想影响扩及更多阶层,乐署作为机构的本体存在往往不是随之壮大,而是削弱甚至消失。崇文盛世的宋朝,乐署与礼乐思想这种独特关系可谓典型。在经过了晚唐五代之乱、渴求礼乐思想与秩序的北宋,更是如此。就发生与运行机制而言,北宋诸乐署的设置、运作是北宋礼乐思想形成、普及的重要国家力量;北宋礼乐思想体系的形成很大程度上也是乐署体系全方位运行、影响的结果。部分乐署最终被裁撤,有特定时期经济因素的考量,而裁撤行为本身又是"节俭"礼乐思想贯彻的结果。北宋乐署裁撤,人员散向民间,又可视为乐署对于礼乐思想的另一种影响——"非建制"影响的开始。

Imperial Music Office was closely related to the traditional Chinese Thoughts of Li and Music in a unique way.The Office was set up to promote the Thoughts of Li and Music.Once the Thoughts were established,enhanced,complete,rooted in people’s hearts and manifested in people’s behavior,it had reached its goal.With its influence spreading to more social classes,the Office,as an organization,would weaken or even disappear.This unique relationship was typical of the prosperous culture-worshipping Song Dynasty.This was especially true in the Northern Song Dynasty,after the chaos in the late Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties,when people longed for order and the Thoughts of Li and Music.In terms of the mechanism for generation and operation,the establishment and operation of various Music Offices was an important state power for the formation and popularization of the Thoughts of Li and Music.The formation of the thought system of Li and Music,to a great extent,was also the result of the all-round operation and influence of the Music Office system.Some Music Offices were eventually abolished for economic reasons of the specific time,and the abolishment itself was the result of putting the Li and Music Thought of“thrifty”into practice.The abolition of the Office could also be regarded as the beginning of another influence of the Music Office on the Thought of Li and Music,namely,the“non-organizational”influence.
