This paper introduced the method and criterion of the arcing due to internal fault test in low voltage switchgear.The purpose and necessity of the test were described by the test analysis through the T waveform diagram.In addition,the switchgear arcing due to internal fault tests in different fields was compared.The reasons and key points of the differences among the arcing due to internal fault tests in industrial,nuclear and high pressure environments were analyzed.Moreover,the paper summarized the hazards and protective measures of the arcing due to internal fault.
