清代太原旗营的武备

The Military Equipment of Taiyuan Banner Camp in the Qing Dynasty

清代太原旗营以刀、矛为近身防御武器,将弓箭、鸟枪作为主要进攻武器,这与人们固有印象不同。太原城为旗营提供了更好的防卫与后勤保障条件,但长期的安逸生活却使驻防旗人逐渐丧失掉骑射本领和机动优势。针对清中期以来旗营中出现的诸多问题,多位晋抚及城守尉均厉行改制,涉及改革营制、编练新军及重定饷章等内容。不过存在的弊端积重难返,改制难以取得预期成效。

The knives and spears were used as their defensive weapons and bows and bird guns as their offensive weapons in the flag battalion in Taiyuan in the Qing Dynasty,which was totally different as people had imagined. While Taiyuan city provided good defense security and logistics support for the flag battalion,it also made the flag men gradually lose the advantages of riding and shooting skills as well as rapid mobility because of long-term cozy and comfortable life. In view of many malpractices in Taiyuan flag battalion since the middle of the Qing Dynasty,many lieutenants and captains in Taiyun had tried to innovate system,including reforming the battalion,training the new army,resetting the rules for paying and so on. But there existed some disadvantages and formed malpractices were difficult to get rid of,so it was difficult to achieve the expected effect.
