The Writings and the Cultural Dissemination of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chinese American Works

美国华裔作家通过文学作品赋予中医药文化鲜活的文化意义阐释功能。一方面,中医药文化表征成为作家笔下的"调和符码"与"对立符码",以对应美国主流的主导文化符码;另一方面,华裔文学作品的中医药文化表征实践,作为写作手法和写作需求,不仅让美国华裔文学研究走出了唯文化批评的漩涡,而且促使读者更多关注华裔文学作品与中医药文化,有力地推动了中医药文化传播。

Chinese American writers have represented TCM(Chinese Traditional Medicine)culture lively in their works to interpret the cultural differences and its significance.On the one hand,the representation of TCM culture has become an"adjusting code"and an"opposing code"in the face of mainstream cultural code.On the other hand,TCM representation as a writing technique and a must in Chinese American literature can not only help Chinese American Literature break away from the culture criticism predominance but also boost the wide spread of TCM culture.
