A Further Study on Concept of "Rgo Dialect"

道孚土话乃民间俗称,学界对其命名莫衷一是,相关称谓有:道孚话、尔龚语、霍尔语、嘉戎语、绰斯甲语、拉坞戎语、西夏语等。本文从尔龚语相关学术研究成果入手,对尔龚母语人的语言自称含义以及古籍文献《象蕃语言汇编》记载等多维度综合考究,以期对尔龚语概念界定问题进行新的探讨。

The Daofu dialect has some alternative names, on which a consensus has not been reached by scholars. The Daofu dialect can be also called the Rgo dialect, the Huoer dialect, the Jiarong dialect, the Chuosijia dialect, the Lawurong dialect, the Tangut dialect and so on. This paper attempts to make a further study on the concept of Rgo dialect, based on the relevant academic research of Rgo dialect, the self-explanatory meaning from local speakers of Rgo dialect, the records of The Collection of Xiang-bo Dialect, and other multi-dimensional comprehensive studies.
