The relationship between the civil engineering structure and safe use of elevators is clarified to improve elevators installation quality.This paper introduces several accident cases and describes the impacts of civil construction defects on the elevator safety.Combined with an on-site inspection case,the requirements of related standards in elevator industry for civil structure are discussed.The results are intended to provide reference for relevant practitioners.
