To obtain the characteristics of the cover calligraphy of Modern Sketch.Through GuangYu Zhang representative work,Modern Sketch,was taken as the research object. Using the methods of literature research and case analysis to carry out the research. Firstly,the background of running the magazine is analyzed. Secondly,the artistic characteristics of the calligraphy are analyzed from the source of font modeling and font shape change of the cover calligraphy.The characteristics and causes of the graphic design of the journal name were obtained.It can provide reference for the study of GuangYu Zhang ’s calligraphy design and bring new inspiration for the study of calligraphy in Ming dynasty.
