专业图书馆的公共性建设研究--从机构身体语言视角看谢菲尔德大学健康科学图书馆

Research on the Publicness Construction of Special Libraries:A Case Study of the University of Sheffield,Health Sciences Library from the Perspective of Institutional Body Language

文章以谢菲尔德大学健康科学图书馆为研究对象,通过实地观察等方法,从机构身体语言视角入手,对其如何将自身建设为具有公共属性的学科专业图书馆进行研究。研究发现,谢菲尔德大学健康科学图书馆在充分利用其自身医学与健康科学学科背景的基础上,在其机构空间语言与功能建设方面,通过对其权属性、包容性、可达性与功能可见性等方面的公共性建设,完成其学科专业性与公共性的平衡。从而为我国当下高校专业图书馆从"院系资料室"向具有公共属性的学科图书馆的发展提供有效的经验与借鉴。

This research took the University of Sheffield Health Sciences Library as the research object and analyzed how it developed itself as a professional library with publicness through online data collection and offline field observation.It was found that the University of Sheffield Health Sciences Library makes full use of its own medical and health science background,and further reaches its publicness through both physical space from the perspective of institutional body language of balancing core dimensions of ownership,inclusion,functional visibility and accessibility.This study can provide effective experience and reference for the development of the departmental libraries of current Chinese universities and colleges,which are in the transition from"faculty reference room"to"departmental library".
