Higher Education Development in Macao:Review and Prospective Study

澳门回归以来高等教育经历了教育主权回归后的规模扩张期、与境外合作的质量竞争力提升期以及当下融入“大湾区”的内涵发展期。回归以来,澳门高等教育稳健发展,取得了显著的成就,但同时也存在整体发展失衡、国际化质量不高、经费来源单一、内部结构性失调等问题。瞻望未来,澳门高等教育要以大湾区建设为契机,强化均衡发展的顶层设计、优化国际师生来源结构、拓展多元融资渠道、发展适度多元经济带动人才培养结构调整,以支撑澳门和大湾区多元经济社会和产业发展。

Since China restored sovereignty over Macao,Higher Education in Macao has gone through three periods of development:scale expansion,improving quality and competitiveness through international cooperation,and integration into the Greater Bay Area.Significant achievements have been made while there are also problems unresolved,including unbalanced overall development,not enough international cooperation,single source of revenue,and internal structural imbalance.Looking ahead,Macao should take the development in Greater Bay Area as an opportunity to strengthen the top-level design of balanced development,expand channels for international teachers and students,create multiple funding sources,and develop a diversified economy to drive the structural adjustment of personnel training so as to support the diversified economic,social and industrial development of Macao and the Greater Bay Area.
