Changji Village of Nanzhang County:The Hometown of Chinese Mandarin Ducks

八百里南漳山川秀美,六百里漳河玉带蜿蜒。在鄂西北荆山之巅、漳河之畔,有一个生态与文化珠联璧合的秀美山村--湖北省襄阳市南漳县东巩镇昌集村,这里生态环境优美,阡陌林道通达,自然与人文景观丰富;这里是野生鸳鸯栖息繁衍之地。

Changji Village,deep in Jin Mountain of Northwest Hubei,is hailed as the hometown of Chinese mandarin ducks.The village is a paradise of wildlife,with the lush and verdant forests,crystal-clear Zhang River and kind-hearted villages who enjoy the companionship of wild animals and plants.It is also a reputed gene bank of Chinese red pine and one of the three wintering grounds for mandarin ducks.In 2012 the first-ever village-level wildlife protection association was founded right here.In 2016,the village partnered with Xiangyang Municipal Forestry Bureau to establish the wild bird protection and monitoring station.Its decades-long eco-conservation has paved the way for its green development.Now this century-old village is bustling with life.
