Taking a teaching design of a reading-based English writing demonstration class as an example,the article discusses how to implement English teaching through the activity-based learning approach and develop the core competencies of students in reading-based writing class by integrating the textbook materials,creating a thematic context,conducting text analysis based on its genre,and by designing real and effective writing tasks.
