Discussion on Debris Flow Disposal Measures and Effects in Longnan Section of Provincial Highway

陇南位于秦巴山区,青藏高原和黄土高原交汇处,是甘肃省唯一一座经长江穿过的城市,其地势、地质复杂,是中国四大泥石流频发地区。泥石流是一种特殊的洪流,是在山坡和地形严重的深谷中由于暴雨,暴风雪或其他自然灾害引起的在滑坡中携带大量沉积物和岩石的自然现象。泥石流具有突发性,速度快,流量大,物质容量大,破坏力强的特点。

Longnan is located in the Qinba Mountains,at the intersection of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the Loess Plateau.It is the only city in Gansu Province that crosses the Yangtze River.Its topography and geology are complex,and it is one of China's four major debris flow areas.Debris flow is a special kind of torrent,which is a natural phenomenon that carries a large amount of sediment and rocks in landslides due to heavy rain,snowstorm or other natural disasters in mountain slopes and deep valleys with severe terrain.Debris flow has the characteristics of suddenness,fast speed,large flow,large material capacity and strong destructive force.
