The effective way to solve the"resource curse"faced by the resource-based areas and to solve the resourced-based economic problems is to transform the economy, develop culture industries and other high-end industries. Based on the relevant data of 11 cities in Shanxi Province, the most typical resource-based economy province in China, from 2011 to 2017, this paper uses absolute concentration, regional entropy and Taylor index to measure the level of industrial agglomeration, and conducts quantitative research on the spatial distribution and evolution pattern of Shanxi cultural industry. The study finds that there are significant differences in spatial distribution of Shanxi′s cultural industries, with a large degree of imbalance, showing obvious single-center grade differences;the differences in the development of cultural industries in central Shanxi are the main components of the overall differences in the province;as far as the sub-industries are concerned, the agglomeration of cultural manufacturing industry is quite different. Finally, this paper puts forward some suggestions, such as giving full play to the comparative advantages of factor endowment and rationally balancing the layout of cultural industry space.
