A Research on the Birthplace and Origin of Tonpa Shenrab

关于苯教教主辛饶米沃的诞生地虽在公元10世纪文献中有大食沃摩隆仁之记载,但之前的文献中很难看到类似记述。辛饶为穆氏,关于穆氏的历史,公元8-9世纪的文献中即有记载;另外,穆氏居住地人称穆域,和辛饶的诞生地是毗邻的小国,地处岗底斯山西北地区。

It is recorded that the birthplace of Tonpa Shenrab is'ol Mo Lung Ring in Persia according to the literature of 10th century.But it is difficult to find this point of view in the documents prior to the 10th century.Shenrab’s last name is Dmu,we can find some information about Dmu in the literature of the 8th to 9th centuries.It is recorded that the place of the Dmu tribe is called Dmu Yul.If you want to go here,you have to go through the narrow road of wild animals such as tigers and leopards.It is evident that the birthplace of Tonpa Shenrab and Dmu Yul are actually two small neighboring places.
