东方学视域下的王西里《中国文学史纲要》研究

A Study of Vasiliev's Outline of Chinese Literature History from the Perspective of Orientalism

研究者多从汉学角度关注王西里的《中国文学史纲要》,相对忽视了其浓厚的东方学特征。王西里在东方总体观的视野下审视中国文学,该书是一部超越国别文学(汉学或中国学)的东方总体文学史。他沿用早期东方学的研究方法和实证批判精神,探讨中西方文明之间的关联性,考订中国历史典籍的真伪并质疑中国历史和文化的悠久性。王西里站在西方中心的立场看待中国文化和文学,彰显出其"西方-东方"二元对立的历史文化观。我们要突破传统的汉学视角,将其置于东方学的视域下,科学认识和客观评价王西里《中国文学史纲要》的独特价值和重要地位。

Researchers pay more attention to Vasiliev's"Outline of Chinese Literature History"from the perspective of sinology,and relatively ignore its strong orientalism characteristics.Vasiliev adopted the vision of the overall oriental view,making the book an overall oriental literary history that transcends national literature(sinology or Chinese studies).He followed the research methods of early orientalism and the spirit of positive criticism,explored the relationship between Chinese and western civilizations,examined the authenticity of Chinese historical classics and questioned the long history and culture of China.Vasiliev looks at Chinese culture and literature from the standpoint of the western center,showing his historical and cultural view of"westerneastern"binary opposition.We should break through the traditional sinology perspective and place it in the perspective of orientalism to scientifically understand and objectively evaluate the unique value and important position of Vasiliev's Outline of Chinese L iterature History.
