学术、普及与雅俗共赏——故宫博物院2008—2019年书画展览概述与思考

Scholarship,Popularity and Versatility:An Overview of the Palace Museum’s Exhibitions of Painting and Calligraphy in 2008-2019

故宫博物院2008—2019年举办的古代书画展可分为常设展和专题展两类。常设展题目确立的要点是发挥藏品优势,塑造品牌展览。专题展在策划上注重学术性和普及性的平衡;主题阐释上重视多角度解读,以一件经典作品带动一个主题;部分展览采用阐明艺术家艺术渊源、本人艺术特点和成就、其艺术对当时和后世的影响之三段式展览结构。总体而言,书画展应以学术研究为前提,阐释方式应清晰明了,通俗易懂。在策展过程中,要充分了解古代书画材质的特殊性和文物保护相关规定,尤其要考虑文物休眠期,在保护的前提下利用。举办古代书画展的战略目标是雅俗共赏,在战术操作上可以雅俗分赏,因地制宜,因人而异。

The exhibitions on ancient calligraphy and painting held by the Palace Museum from 2008 to 2019 included two categories:permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions.In curating the permanent exhibitions,the focus was placed on playing to the strengths of the museum’s collection and building a brand for the series of exhibitions.In terms of special exhibitions,what was focused was the balance between scholarship and popularity and the provision of multi-perspective interpretation.Other curatorial practices included the use of one single work in driving an exhibition theme and the adoption of the traditional threesection structure-the artistic origins,the characteristics of the works,and the influence on the contemporary and future artists-in presenting the artist and his or her art.It is concluded that exhibitions of painting and calligraphy should rely on solid academic research and should be clearly interpreted,well presented and easy to understand.When curating,it is important to have full knowledge about the mediums and materials of these works and their different features as well as the conservation policies,particularly the limits on time of exposure;the utilization of cultural relics should be based on proper protective measures.The ultimate goal of exhibitions of ancient painting and calligraphy is to allow these artworks to be enjoyed by both the in tellectuals and the general public,which may be achieved through the practices of layering audiences and tailoring the exhibition case by case.
