Wang Bai’s Revolt against The Book of Songs from the Perspective of Neo-Confucianism

王柏学问本于朱熹,是宋代著名的经学家。王柏《诗疑》秉承了宋代学术上的疑古之风,是在欧阳修、苏辙等北宋大家的学术成果基础上,又传统学习朱熹《诗集传》《诗序辩说》等疑古创新之作,再加上自己的学习研究而作的,对《诗经》的完整性和其他方面提出了大胆的质疑,并有勇而删诗的方案。他的这些思想,对我们今天的《诗经》研究乃至其他研究,都有一定的启示。

Wang Bai,a well-known economist in Song Dynasty,who inherits deeply from the scholar ZhuXi.His work ShiYi,which retains the style of suspecting the ancient history in Song Dynasty,and composed on the academic achievements of OuYang xiu,Su Zhe and other scholars in the Northern Song Dynasty.With the traditional study of Zhu Xi’s Poetry Anthology Biography as well as Poetry Preface Argumentation and other works of suspecting the ancient history combined with his own study and research,he puts forward a bold query on the integrity and other aspects of The Book of Songs,and has a schedule to delete poems bravely.His thoughts have certain enlightenment to the study of The Book of Songs and other researches.
