Safety and ethical issues of acupuncture expansion technology

常规针刺技术基础上拓展出了许多侵入性的治疗技术,包括针刀疗法、皮肤疗针法、内热针疗法等,这些技术具有较大的伤害性和安全问题,推广过程中缺乏伦理学论证,技术操作规范标准偏低;既缺乏安全性评价,也没有严格的多中心临床疗效的评价,适应症的选择缺乏有力的证据支持,在治疗机制上缺乏科学理论的有效阐释。技术的拓展是无止境的,也应当鼓励技术创新。但医学技术不仅是技术,更是仁术,需要有完备的临床疗效、安全性评价,并且符合医学伦理学的要求。

On the basis of conventional acupuncture techniques,many invasive treatment techniques have been developed,including needle-knife therapy,dermal needling therapy,internal thermal needling therapy,etc.These techniques have great harmfulness and safety problems,lack of ethical demonstration during extension process and low standard of technical operation,are without either safety evaluation or strict multi-center clinical evaluation,without strong evidence support for indication choice,and lack of effective interpretation of scientific theory for treatment mechanism.The development of technology is endless,and technological innovation should be encouraged.But medical technology is not only about technology,but also about benevolence.It needs clinical effecacy and safety evaluation,and meets the requirements of medical ethics.
