Objective To study the correlation and clinical significance of plasma homocysteine level with cerebral infarction. Methods A total of 168 patients with cerebral infarction were selected as the observation group, and were divided into the first group(40 cases)and the relapse group(44 cases)according to the onset.102 patients with normal physical examination were used as the control group, and the fasting plasma homocysteine levels between the groups were detected and compared. Results The plasma content of homocysteine in the observation group was(29.35±3.39)μmol/L,and that in the control group was(12.15±1.66)μmol/L.The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(t=5.705,P<0.05).The difference between the first group and the recurrent group was statistically significant(t=-3.751,P<0.05).The percentage of patients with plasma homocysteine levels was statistically significant between the recurrent group and the first group. The moderate to severe patients(81.9%)were significantly higher than the first group(45.0%).Conclusion Hyperhomocysteinemia is associated with cerebral infarction, and the higher the level, the greater the chance of recurrence.
