耶律倍的让国与儒学在辽代的传播

摘要 辽代耶律倍早年被封为太子,后来在皇权斗争中处在了劣势,他让位给耶律德光,远赴他国。他的让国行为避免了兄弟之间的厮杀,也得到了母亲的欢心,彰显了儒家倡导的孝悌美德。让国事件的发生过程其实是草原文化与儒家文化的碰撞与融合的过程。耶律倍是这一文化碰撞融合的受害者,也是受益者,他失去了皇位,却得到了美誉。他的子孙登上皇位后,不断宣扬他的让国美德,扩大了儒家道德在辽代的影响,促进了儒家文化在北方的传播。 Yelv Bei,the oldest son of Emperor Taizu in Liao Dynasty,was once designated as the crown prince.He failed in his scramble for the throne later,and then chose to leave his country.His abdication avoided the battle among brothers,thus gained the appreciation from his mother,and manifested the filial piety of Confucianism.This event actually represents a process of collision and fusion between Prairie Culture and Central Plain Culture.From the process Yelv Bei both suffered and benefited,as he lost the throne but won a reputation.Afterwards his descendants ascended the throne and Yelv Bei’s virtue of abdication was publicized continuously.Thus the spread and influence of Confucian morals and cultures in the north were largely encouraged.
