胡钟达先生治史方法浅谈

On Mr.Hu Zhong-da’s Methodology of Historical Researches

我国著名历史学家胡钟达先生是新中国成立后世界古代史研究领域的开创者之一。《胡钟达史学论文集》中的有关文章,从三个方面体现了胡先生的治史方法及其特色:第一,在研究问题的选择上,关注大问题的探讨;第二,在研究问题的态度上,始终坚持从材料出发而不是从观点出发;第三,在研究问题的方法上,坚持宏观论述与微观考证相结合,中国问题与国际视野相结合。尽管胡钟达先生的史学研究不可避免地带有时代的烙印,但时至今日,仍具有很高的学术价值和现实意义,尤其是在治史方法上,有许多宝贵的思想遗产值得我们学习、继承和发扬。

Prof.HU Zhong-da,a famous Chinese Historian,is one of the founders of the research field of ancient world history after the founding of new China.Based mainly on the related papers in A Collection of Hu Zhongda’s Historical Papers,three characteristics are summarized about his methodology of historical researches:firstly,in terms of the selection of research topics,big problems are chosen in his history study;secondly,in terms of his attitude towards study,he always starts from history material rather than viewpoint;in terms of the research methodology,he insists on combination of macroscopic elaboration and microscopic textual research,Chinese problems and the international vision.Although Prof.Hu’s history studies inevitably have their time marks,today they are still of very high academic value and practical significance,and especially in historical methodology,they left us a valuable legacy to learn,inherit and carry forward.
