国外高校图书馆延伸服务模式研究

Research on the Outreach Service Modes in Overseas Academic Libraries

[目的/意义]探讨国外对于高校图书馆延伸服务的界定、主体实施模式,以为国内同行对此问题的研究提供启发。[方法/过程]采用文献综述的方式,梳理国外高校图书馆延伸服务的典型定义、开展动机;按照延伸对象、服务内容与方式,对国外高校图书馆延伸服务的实施模式进行分类;采用案例分析的方法对每一种延伸模式进行解析说明。[结果/结论]国外高校图书馆延伸服务主体实施模式分为:特定群体延伸、信息素养教育延伸、新技术延伸、文化素养延伸和社会延伸。国外尤其是发达国家的高校图书馆在延伸服务方面已发展得比较成熟,并表现出如下特点:注重服务对象的细分及个性化服务策略的使用;延伸服务的内容及形式灵活多样,并形成了很多典型案例;注重利用信息技术来拓展服务形式和内容;注重高校图书馆的社会教育功能;注意利用高校图书馆的学科优势(如医学的优势)为公众开展健康信息的延伸服务;注重使用创新式的延伸策略(如创新图书馆的传统教育服务项目),将信息素养教育与专业课程融合,以实现比较理想的素质教育效果。

[Purpose/significance]The paper aims at discussing the definition and implementing modes of outreach service in foreign academic libraries,which will provide references for Chinese peers to study the issue.[Method/process]This paper analyzes the typical definitions and development motivations of outreach service in foreign academic libraries,classifies the implementation modes according to the outreach audiences,service contents and methods,and explains each mode by case study.[Result/conclusion]The main modes of outreach service at foreign university libraries include specific group outreach,information literacy instruction outreach,new technology outreach,cultural literacy outreach and community outreach.Academic libraries in foreign countries,especially in developed countries,have developed more mature in extension services,and show the following characteristics:pay attention to the subdivision of service objects and the use of personalized service strategies;the contents and forms of extension services are flexible and diverse,and many typical cases have been formed;pay attention to the use of information technology to expand service forms and contents;pay attention to the social education function of academic libraries;pay attention to the use of academic advantages of academic libraries(such as medical advantages)to carry out the extension service of health information for the public;pay attention to the use of innovative extension strategies(such as the traditional education service project of innovative library),integrate information literacy education and professional courses,so as to achieve a better quality education effect.
