With the development of information technology, the technical conditions for transforming historical documents and Archives into data information have become mature. We need to accelerate the digitization process of historical documents and Archives, so that historical documents and Archives can be better preserved and more people can borrow and use them. This paper elaborates on the connotation of digitization of historical documents and Archives, and analyzes the necessity and realization path of digitization, in the hope of contributing to the preservation and use of historical documents and Archives in China.
