Study on Su Dongpo’s Going to Changhua County

苏东坡以“琼州别驾”身份贬琼三年,昌化军安置,其间是否到过海南昌化县(今海南省昌江黎族自治县),史上并无明确记载,今人对此争议颇多。通过研究南宋建炎二年(1128年)海南昌化县令一段残存碑文,以断续的碑文内容作为新的证据,结合大量史料比对、相互印证,进而考证:东坡贬儋期间,曾经离开昌化军治所,至少一次到达昌化军所辖昌化县,时间、地点、路线、撰文等均有所考。

Su Dongpo was demoted to Qiongzhou as“Qiongzhou Biejia”(a local official)for three years and was settled in Changhua Army.During this period,whether he visited Changhua County(now Changjiang Li Autonomous County of Hainan Province)or not is not clear in historical records,and experts today are quite controversial about it.This paper studies a remnant inscription by a Changhua County Magistrate in the second year of Jianyan in the Southern Song Dynasty.By taking the incoherent inscription as the new evidence,this paper compares a large number of historical data and confirms that during his demotion to Danzhou,Su Dongpo had left Changhua Army and arrived at least once at Changhua County under the jurisdiction of Changhua Army.The paper also examines the time,place,route and writing.
