摘要
罗经国译著《古文观止精选》选译《古文观止》中32篇经典散文,篇篇珠玉,备受赞誉。从"深度翻译"的角度剖析译著中的深度翻译策略,包括文本外的序跋、插图和文本内对人名地名、官职名称、历史典故、传统习俗、古代哲学思想和天文地理知识的注释和原作者介绍,发现译文的深度化语境具有意义阐释、背景描述和跨文化沟通等功能,有助于推动中国古典散文的译介和传播。
A Selection of Classical Chinese Essays(Guwenguanzhi)by Luo Jing-guo,including translations of 32 essays from Guwenguanzhi(Gems from Chinese Culture),is highly praised for its delicacy.This paper studies thick translation strategies adopted in the book,calling attention to a large number of paratexts added to the English Version,including prefaces,illustrations,footnotes,introduction to authors,etc.The analysis finds that the interpretative and cross-cultural communicative functions of thick translation strategies can promote the overseas dissemination of Chinese classical essays.
