A New Dating of the King Wu Overthrew the Shang Dynasty

利用古籍和金文中所记载的日期和天象,以天文学方法,分析了武王伐纣的天数和年份,推断武王十一年是连续使用了两年。由此而复原出武王伐纣的全部日期和文王至成王年表,推定武王伐纣开始之年即受命之年为前1058年,武王伐纣克商之年为前1051年。

Using the astronomical phenomena and dates recorded in ancient books and inscriptions, the paper analyzed the number of days and years that the King Wu overthrew the Shang dynasty by astronomy. It was inferred that the date had been used for two consecutive years for eleven years of the King Wu. It restored all the dates of the King Wu overthrew the Shang dynasty and the chronology of his reign from King Wen to King Cheng. It was assumed that the year of the King Wu overthrew the Shang dynasty was from 1058 BC to 1051 BC.
