Survey on the Yanfu(Salt carriers)on the Ancient Salt Road between Sichuan and Guizhou during the Qing Dynasty

川黔古盐道上的盐夫,与农民一样,既是一种职业身份,又是一类专门职业劳动者。这种靠人力肩挑背负运输食盐的职业或从业者,是历史的产物,在现代已经销声匿迹了。我们只能从一些史料或者照片中看到:他们身穿麻布长衫,头缠青布,脚穿草鞋,背着一个大篓筐,手拿一根杵地杖,穿梭在贵州崇山峻岭之间进行运盐活动。对盐夫进行历史研究,不仅能丰富贵州盐文化史的研究,而且可以丰富贵州人社会生活史的研究。

The Yanfu(salt carriers)on the Ancient Salt Road between Sichuan and Guizhou,like the farmers,was not only a professional identity,but also a kind of professional workers.The Yanfu(salt carriers)that was a product of history,has disappeared in modern times.We can only see from some historical materials or photos that they were wearing long linen cloaks,their heads covered with blue cloth,their feet dressed in straw sandals,carrying a large basket on their backs,and carrying a stick sticking to the ground in their hands.They were carrying salt among the high mountains in Guizhou.The historical study on the Yanfu(salt carriers)on the Ancient Salt Road between Sichuan and Guizhou,not only enriches the study on Guizhou Salt Cultural history,but also enriches the study on Guizhou People's social history of life.
