生态社会主义既不是一种综合、全面的理论,用以阐释、分析社会现实状况及其动态演进,也不是一种单纯描述现实难题的理论,而是一种致力于经济社会变革的审议性政纲,努力将政策"倡议"和"斗争"实践结合起来。生态社会主义作为一种综合性政纲,建立于"各种斗争形式无法简约化"的基本认知基础之上,因为反资本主义斗争、反父权制斗争、反帝国主义斗争和反工业主义斗争,都是其不可或缺的组成部分。此外,作为一种完整的行动战略,它还必须把"时机浪费"元素当作一个独立的维度来考虑。相应地,生态社会主义一般而言的"双重战略"就必须拓展成为一种独特构型的"三重战略"。

Eco-socialism is not a comprehensive and integrative theory that interprets and analyses current social reality and its dynamics,nor a theory that merely describes realistic difficulties,but a deliberative political program combining policy initiatives with actual struggles,with the purpose of economic and social transformation.As a comprehensive political program,eco-socialism is based on the rudimentary cognition that"various forms of struggles cannot be simplified",in that the struggles of anti-capitalism,anti-patriarchy,anti-imperialism as well as anti-industrialism all function as indispensable components of the whole.Furthermore,as a comprehensive strategic initiative,the element of"time wasting"is an independent dimension of eco-socialism to be taken into consideration.Therefore,the general"dual strategy"of eco-socialism must also be expanded into a unique"triple strategy"accordingly.
