“瘾疹”名义与“隐”字古义

瘾疹是一种常见的皮肤病,具有时隐时现的显著特点。“瘾”字原作“隐”字,而对于“隐”字的理解通常局限于隐蔽、隐藏等含义。正是由于这种理解,现代普遍认为“瘾疹”的命名是由于其时而隐藏于皮肤之下的特点。但是命名为“瘾疹”的真正原因恰是由于其时而凸出的特点,即其原意是凸出皮肤外的疹子。我国古代的文学著作、医学著作中都有关于“隐”字凸出含义的理解,本文引用古代相关著作的例子,结合现代疾病命名的特点,对“瘾疹”真正的含义进行说明。

"hidden rash"is a common skin disease,which has obvious characteristics of appearing and disappearing from time to time.The original version of the word"Yin"is"Yin",while the understanding of the word"Yin"is usually limited to the meanings of concealment.It is precisely because of this understanding that modern people generally believe that the naming of"hidden rash"is due to its characteristic of hiding under the skin from time to time.However,the real reason for naming it"hidden rash"is due to its sometimes protruding feature,that is,its original intention is to protrude the rash outside the skin.In ancient Chinese literature and medical works,there is an understanding of the protruding meaning of the word"Yin".This paper,citing examples from ancient related works and combining the characteristics of modern disease nomenclature,explains the true meaning of"hidden rash".
